Crystalline silica is used to make lots of different products. Sometimes the crystalline nature of the material is destroyed, for example in glass, and sometimes the crystalline silica is sealed within the product and can’t get into the air, for example in a stone block that’s not going to be drilled or disturbed in any way. So if you’re just touching a solar panel, there’s no chance the silica can be released into the air.
